I bought these chimes to replace a set that I had purchased a LONG time ago (maybe 15 years). They have moved with me to four different states and always hang outside my bedroom window. I was crushed when they finally fell apart and couldn't be repaired. I was no longer even sure of their name.

Searching for JW Stannard chimes, I found many listed - and most of them had recordings of their sound as well. Thanks to that, and going by their basic size, I took a chance and ordered. They arrived quickly and well packaged.

I'm happy to report that indeed, these are the same chimes that have been my companion for so long - AND they still appear to be made with the same craftsmanship and quality that allowed my first set to last all those years.

This is a delicate sounding, soothing chime, with a tone that is still full, and that carries, thanks to the solid metal used in their construction.

My thanks to JW Stannard, and to Amazon! These chimes make a lovely gift for oneself or others.

What a delightful sound! Each pipe is tuned to a note on the scale and when the plummet strikes the pipes they"sing".Because there is no breeze where my chime is located, I gently tap the plummet every time I pass by and the tinkling begins. A Feng Shui must.

The 35-Inch, "Nightingale" wind chime. The melodious sound of the Nightingale serves as the inspiration for this romantically classic sounding chime. 6 tubular chimes: E,F#,G#,B,C#,E J.W. Stannard s chimes because of the sound quality. EACH bell is individually hand-tuned to ensure that every chime plays exactly the notes inscribed on the wind catcher. The sound is so precise, it is considered a musical instrument. Each bell will maintain the chime s perfect pitch and never rust. Protective nylon grommets are used on the chimes to minimize each cord's contact with each bell, increasing cord life by 700-Percent and producing a clearer, cleaner sound.
